    Estes Park may not be so inexpensive, but it sure is beautiful!

    I lived near there for many years and my husband and I always held that as our ‘dream’ …have a great time no matter where you go! It’s the attendees who count….not the location. Congratulations!

    Being based around Estes Park so you would be close to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Divide, try some little inns along the Peak-to-Peak Highway, Route 7…
    The South-Western slopes are also magical, but could be really expensive…

    If I wanted to go on a romantic getaway in Colorado, I would look in the southwest mountains. Durango is a nice medium-sized town with lots of nice outdoor activities and a few places to eat. If you want smaller, check out Ouray, Lake City, Creed, or Silverton. You could even look into Telluride, but if you want inexpensive, try the off season (not the ski season, and not a festival weekend). Find a place close to a hot spring (Ouray has one, and there are some close to Durango). Any time of year, nothing beats a sit in a hot spring.
