Is it illegal for a man to try on lingerie at a store?

That may be the creepies thing i’ve ever heard but man, you have a point. i think you have a legit lawsuit as long as its not illegal what you did, which i dont see why it would be….as creepy as it is….

i don’t think you should. i went to a hairdresser one time and my dad came in to tell me something and they asked him to leave. These kinds of women-like stores don’t like outside men to come in.

I dont know about winning a law suit, but I dot think they should have kicked you out.. I mean, to each their own.. no one would stop a woman from trying on boxers..

    Good luck!

You might have a case! Speak with a lawyer about this, but I doubt there is any law out there that would prevent a man from trying on those types of garments!

That’s interesting. You’d have to speak to an attorney. I think it would be an interesting case.

I am a girl, and if I saw you in Victoria’s secret, unless if you were with another female, that would be freaking weird.. I am sorry but that is just creepy.. I don’t think it’s illegal… but i am sure that a lot of women complained, and security had no other choice

Well, I don’t know if it is illegal but you do have to face it, lingerie is made for women and not for men. Plus Victoria’s Secret is a girly store and it would be just plain out weird to go in and try on a bra or panties, knowing that a guy had just tried them on.

Well, if it’s not illegal, it should be. Lingerie from Victoria’s Secret is not made for men.

this may be a joke….but oddly enough my old girlfriend managed a lingerie store….and depending on the state, you MAY indeed have grounds for a discrimination suit…

…the store where she worked was high end and her company had strict rules that men could not be refused service if they wanted to try on women’s lingerie….in fact, they had to be as helpful (including going into the fitting rooms to give advice) as they would to any female customer….

…such is the modern world in which we live….

well it is pretty creepy for a guy to be trying on women’s lingerie .. correction VERY creepy. why would you want to wear that anyway? YOU’RE NOT A WOMAN! it was probably a good thing to kick you out. other women try on that lingerie and what if you got *** on the underwear? THEY COULD GET PREGNANT BECAUSE YOU JUST ‘love the lace!’
dont do it anymore. if you really want some, get it online!

    dude, that’s just weird…
even if you did want to sue them, they’re a multimillion dollar company and they’ll get a shark lawyer who’ll kick your @ss in court.

    1. You are lying.
    2. Most Private discrimination is not unlawful.
    3. That private store can exclude people who do not comply with their rules, just as you can exclude people from your home who act contrary to your wishes.

If your into that freaky deaky stuff buy it and take it home. If its lace you like go buy a couple of yards at the fabric store. But please stay OUT of Victoria’s Secret its woman’s lingerie Hints not for dudes.

It is discriminatory for them to kick you out of the store if they said “Men can’t do that here” but if it was for being indecent then that’s different, it may be weird in some peoples eyes and if you were trotting out of the dressing room in very revealing lingerie then I could see why they would be offended. If a woman went into the store and tried on an outfit that left her half ***** and she walked out into the public of the store where people could see her I’m sure they would ask her to re-dress herself and leave as well.

Do you have a case? You really do not, you would have to prove that A. You were there in lingerie. B. You would have to prove they kicked you out because you’re a male, not because of indecent exposure. And C. Victoria is a very large billion dollar company, do you have $50,000 and months if not years of free time? I’m going to air on the side of common sense and say you do not.

Large corporations do not take discrimination cases lightly it could give them a bad reputation and force them to lose millions of dollars in sales. That being said they will fight you tooth and nail to get your case thrown out of court, there are survellience cameras in those stores but it takes a warrant from a judge to get them submitted into evidence when that happens it means your attorney believes you have a strong case and you’re ready to go into trial.

Victoria’s Secret will undoubtedly tie you up in court for years upon years never paying you a settlement or closing your case, you open that can of worms and a decade later your case could still be pending. I’m not an attorney but I work with and for a lot of them and I can tell you in my professional opinion it’s not a good idea to attempt litigation in this case. My personal advice to you is simple, if you want to try on lingerie then purchase it from the store try it on at home, and return it if you’re not happy with the purchase. If they don’t allow that then take yourself to a more accepting *** shop where they will allow you to try things on without being discriminating towards you.

Not to mention a LOT of lingerie stores have signs asking you not to try on underwear or a lot of clothing for that matter. You should know your size and purchase on that knowledge instead of trying it on where that just simply may not be allowed in that store.

    Hope this helps,

    Dom.
